My PhD project within the DFG research unit "FOR2432 - Social-Ecological Systems in the Indian Rural-Urban Interface: Functions, Scales and Dynamics of Transition" aims to develop a dynamic spatial model of multi-species bee dynamics and pollination services in a static rural-urban landscape. This model is supposed to link social, economic and ecological features, like beekeeping, pollination services and species traits.

In addition, a simple model of urban sprawl into a rural landscape will be developed. The goal of this simulation model is to generate possible city developments under different scenarios (purposed for merging with the static pollination model), such as increased land sealing or greening the city with parks and agriculture.
